My
name is Christina Marie and I was raised in Kern County California. I now reside
in Los Angeles County and for the last 20 years I have been a hairdresser. Most
of the time I have been self-employed which gives me spare time to write. In
1987, I compiled my past experiences with my likes and dislikes. As a result,
I figured out what I loved to do and what I did the most. One of my revelations
was that I am a daydreamer, evening-dreamer, morning-dreamer, and night-dreamer.
I also realized that my imagination just doesn’t ever stop. So with this
enlightenment, I decided to share my endless imagination in writing. First I
started writing poems. Next I started writing countless outlines, drawings,
and finally, children’s books. The visions in my head have been influenced
by my love for the arts: movies, paintings, theater, animals, and people. These
5 influences are the core of my never-ending imagination.
The origins of my children’s books evolved from my observations of my friends and family with their children being my personal muses. I started writing Plurple in 1993, and I finished the first version in 2000. With some of the other books out there I decided to change her storyline with more action and mystery.
The Fish in My Tank was created in 1993 as well. Both fish stories worked off each other. Matthews mirror was created in early 2001. I already had been writing The Fish in My Tank which gave me ideas for Matthews Mirror.
I am continually influenced by the children in my life, and I continue to write from my endless imagination.
That’s all for now, please enjoy reading, listening, and watching.
Thank you.
Christina Marie
